Dudley Academies Trust

I first joined the Dudley Academies Trust Central Team in July 2022 as IT Technician for Central Projects. This role saw me provide day-to-day technical support for members of the Central Team, as well as act as a second line support for our academies. I also was able to work on a number of projects whilst in this role.

In May 2024, I progressed to the role of IT Operations Officer, expanding on my previous responsibilities.

During my time at Dudley Academies Trust, I have had the opportunity to work on and lead a number of projects. These include, but are not limited to:

Innovation Exchange Setup – Millennium Point

Led the technical design and setup of the Trust’s Innovation Exchange space, coordinating networking, device deployment, and AV infrastructure to support collaborative learning and innovation.

Aspire Centre – Devices, CCTV, and Access Control

Oversaw the full deployment of IT infrastructure, including end-user devices, a modern CCTV system, and secure access control for a newly developed educational facility.

Beacon Hill Academy CCTV Overhaul

Delivered a complete redesign and implementation of a modern, scalable CCTV system to enhance site security and safeguarding.

Access Control Installations – Blowers Green & Kates Hill Primary

Led the implementation of secure access control systems across two primary academies, improving safety and operational control.

Kates Hill Primary Cloud Telephony Solution

Implemented a cloud-based VoIP solution to replace legacy telephony, enabling remote working and streamlined communication whilst achieving significant cost savings.

Trust-wide ClassCharts Implementation

Rolled out ClassCharts behaviour and seating management system across all academies, providing technical support and staff training.

Automated Policy and Document Publication System

Developed a solution to automate the publication of Trust-wide policies and compliance documents, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Beacon Hill Academy – DfE Rebuild Programme

Provided technical leadership during the school’s DfE-funded rebuild, advising on infrastructure, connectivity, and digital learning environments.

Technical and Compliance Audits

Conducted audits across multiple sites to assess infrastructure, software compliance, and security posture, reporting findings to SLT.

Trust-wide SharePoint Intranet

Designed and continue to manage a Trust-wide SharePoint-based intranet, supporting collaborative working and document management.

Central Team Cloud Telephony via Teams Voice

Implemented a Teams Voice solution for the Trust’s Central Team, integrating it with Intune-provisioned devices and training users on effective usage.

Central Team Office Move

Led all technical aspects of the office relocation, including Microsoft 365 tenant reconfiguration, device provisioning via Intune, cloud data migration, and end-user onboarding.

Microsoft 365 Cloud Backups

Researched, procured and implemented a comprehensive cloud backup solution to protect critical M365 data across the Trust.

Academy and Trust Websites

Developed and managed websites for individual academies and the Trust, supporting both operational needs and stakeholder engagement.

Bespoke Automation System

Created a custom integration system using PowerShell, REST APIs, and PHP/HTML to automate repetitive tasks and connect disparate platforms.

St James Academy – Building Management System Integration

Supported the implementation and integration of a digital BMS to monitor and manage site facilities effectively.

Trust-wide Lockdown Alerting System

Delivered a scalable lockdown alert system for use across all academies, enhancing emergency communication protocols.

Trust-wide Library Management System Implementation

Rolled out a centralised school library system across all academies, standardising library management and improving access to resources.

Trust-wide MIS Migration

Supported the technical planning and rollout of a new Management Information System across all schools within the Trust.

Central Helpdesk Implementation

Introduced a centralised IT support system to streamline helpdesk ticketing, prioritisation, and reporting across the organisation.
