During my time studying at Birmingham City University, I was elected to serve as a Course Representative (2020–2024) and later as a School Representative (June 2021 – December 2021). These roles involved acting as a key link between students, academic staff, the wider University, and the Students’ Union. As a Course Rep, I gathered and communicated feedback from fellow students to help influence positive changes in course delivery, assessments, and student support.
As a School Rep, I took on a wider leadership role, representing the collective voice of all Course Reps within the School of Computing and Digital Technology. This involved attending high-level meetings with senior academic staff, raising strategic issues, and ensuring that the student perspective was heard and considered in school-wide decisions. The role required strong communication and the ability to balance multiple viewpoints, giving me valuable insight into collaborative problem-solving.
